Root Canal Treatment in Kirkland, WA

Living with Tooth Pain or Infection Shouldn't Be Your Normal

A toothache that comes and goes, sharp pain when you bite down, or sudden sensitivity to hot and cold can be easy to explain away at first. If you leave them untreated, the infection inside the tooth usually gets worse. Swelling can spread toward the gum and jaw, and pain that started as an occasional twinge can turn constant.

That’s why at Kirkland Dental Excellence, we offer treatments for root canal in Kirkland to stop the infection where it starts, so you can save the tooth and get out of pain, often in a single visit.

Does a Dental Crown Need a Root Canal

What a Root Canal Treats

A root canal therapy removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans out the space, and seals it so the infection can’t come back.

This treatment is typically recommended for:

Treating the infection this way lets you keep your natural tooth and not remove it and replace it down the road.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a fantastic experience at my dental cleaning today! From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff were welcoming, helpful, and made check-in a breeze. The office itself is clean, comfortable, and has a calming atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The hygienist and dentist had such great bedside manner—friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. They explained everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire visit. It’s rare to find a team that combines excellent care with such outstanding customer service. I left feeling well cared for and grateful to have found a dental office that treats patients like family. Highly recommend!

I’ve been going there for several years. It has been a great experience. They are very careful in the work they do—much better than other dentists I have gone to in the past. I strongly recommend them.

Dr. Davis has been my dentist for years, ever since he took over the practice from Dr. Fong, and I think I've interacted with just about everyone in the office, and they are all INCREDIBLE. Seriously, these are some of the kindest, most professional, totally on the ball people you will ever have the pleasure of visiting for a dental appointment. I'm sad to be leaving the state, because it means I will no longer be able to go to Eastview Family Dental, which is a tragedy. They really are the best!

What to Expect from Your Root Canal Process

Exam & Diagnosis

Dr. Hedayati examines the tooth and takes a digital X-ray to confirm the infection and check the surrounding bone.

Numbing & Access

We numb the area fully, then we make an opening in your tooth to reach the infected pulp inside.

Cleaning & Sealing

Dr. Hedayati removes the infected tissue, cleans and disinfects the canal, then fills and seals to keep the infection from returning.

Restoring the Tooth

Most root canals are finished with a crown, which protects the tooth and lets you bite and chew normally again.

Does Insurance Cover Root Canal Treatment?

Dental insurance typically covers a meaningful portion of root canal cost, since it’s considered a necessary procedure rather than an elective one, though coverage varies by plan and by tooth. At Kirkland Dental Excellence, we review your benefits with you and explain what’s covered before treatment begins. Call us at (425) 827-2003 to check your coverage and discuss financing options.

Long-term outlook Often lasts many years, and sometimes a lifetime, with good care Effective, but adds a second treatment to restore the smile

Learn More

At Kirkland Dental Excellence, we treat tooth infections with your comfort and your long-term tooth health in mind.

Root Canal Pain

Most patients feel little to no pain during a root canal, since the area is fully numbed beforehand. The infection causing your symptoms is usually what hurts, and treatment is what relieves it. Some mild soreness for a day or two afterward is normal, similar to what you'd expect after a filling.

Root Canal Recovery

Most people are back to their normal routine within a day or two, with any lingering tenderness settling down over the following week.

Root Canal Symptoms

Watch for lingering sensitivity to hot or cold, pain when you bite down, swelling near a tooth, or a tooth that's darkened. Any of these are worth getting checked.

FAQs

It removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, then cleans and seals the space to stop the infection and relieve pain.
The area is fully numbed before treatment, so most patients feel pressure rather than pain. Some soreness afterward is normal and usually fades within a few days.
Cost depends on the tooth and whether a crown is needed afterward. We review your specific treatment plan and insurance coverage during your visit.
Most treatments need a single visit lasting 60 to 90 minutes, though more complex cases may need a second appointment.
Most back teeth need a crown afterward for protection, since the tooth can become more brittle once the infection is removed.
A root canal isn’t visible from the outside once finished. Inside, the infected tissue is removed, and the canal is cleaned, filled, and sealed, then usually topped with a crown that looks like a natural tooth.
